About Twitter, Family bonding and Golf

Besides at this web magazine Glubble also can be found on Twitter, and even has its own Facebook Fan group. For us these social media are not only simple and effective tools to communicate news about Glubble to our users. More important imo is the opportunity, especially with Twitter, that all our Twitter followers and those we follow back provide us to learn about your findings, ideas, and research in areas of similar interest like parenting, family, children and the Internet.
Every day, usually early in the morning, when I scroll through the hundreds of tweets Glubble receives it amazes me how much collective knowledge, understanding, wonderful life stories and fun stuff we seem be able to congregate. Many times true gems.
One of these gems I discovered the other day is from @openzine who provided a link to a wonderful story of a father from Grafton MA — a professional Golf teacher, that introduced his young son to playing Golf and in the process learned a lot about parent-child bonding.
Reading the article was not only fun but very inspirational too.
Here’s how the article “How to Introduce Golf to Your Child” starts:
“One of the great things about parenting and fatherhood/motherhood is introducing new activities to your child or children. Young children who bond with their father/mother during their younger years are much more likely to grow up to be happy, confident, well-adjusted individuals. Interacting with your children builds a bond that will last forever. It lets the child know he or she is loved and appreciated. It opens the door for sharing problems and concerns when the need arises. It helps the parent get to know and understand the uniqueness of each child. It is also happens to be a great stress reducer for overworked parents. And in today’s environment that is extremely important for creating the ever illusive balance in life that many parents strive to achieve.”
The article continues explaining who to deal best with young children to your own passions, in this case Golf, and how important it is to keep the fun aspect very much alive.
I think this is an article very worthwhile to read and clearly shows their is much to learn from eachother.
