How to add family members to your Glubble Family Page

November 3, 2008 by Alexander

Glubble for Families is an online activity center for the entire family. By adding new family members to your Family Page you can share family photos, send each other messages, and manage important family events such as birthdays. Grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins. You can add each of them so that the whole family can get together online and have fun! Adding family members is really easy.

In order to add a new family member you need to click on the “Add family member” link on your Family Page.

Click on the "Add family member" link

You can find the Add family member” link on your Family Page, right below your profile picture on the left side. When you click on that link you will be taken to a page where you can enter new family members.

Step 1: select adult or child

Glubble creates a personal Kids Page for children, in which they can play, learn and discover the web safely. Adults can access the Family Page and participate in all family activities.

Step 2: enter the details for the new family member

After choosing to add an adult or a child to your Family Page, you will see a form in which you can enter profile information about the new family member. If you enter a correct e-mail address for an adult family member he or she is invited automatically to your family page.

Enter the detaisl of this adult profile

    This isn’t working!
The kids page is stuck on one child and I can’t get to any other child’s homepage!

    Hi Susan,

I can’t exactly figure out what is going wrong, but there is a simple way to switch from one child to another. Just click on their large profile picture in their Kids page. You will then see a popup window with pictures of all your children. If you click on another childs picture, you will be switched to that child’s Kids Page.

You can also switch profiles from the Family page by moving your mouse to a profile picture. A small menu will appear that allows you to switch.

Hi I would like to know if we can add friends who are also glubble members so we can all chat between each other?

  4. admin on November 12th, 2008 8:57 pm

    Hi Lisa,

Unfortunately this is not possible yet, but we do like the idea of allowing families to connect and chat with each other. We will definitely look into that!

You can of course add your friends to your Family Page, but they would be allowed to see all family matters. I’m not sure if that is what you were looking for.

I am just setting this up for my family and it seems to be a very needed plug-in to protect children from the whole WWW exposure. My only problem is that my kids love webkinz and my daughter got this small laptop that is 1080 X 600. The webkinz site cannot even be started due to no scroll bar on the right side of the kids glubble browser. Can someone fix this??? Seems like this will be a simple fix and a more common problem because of the popularity of this smaller ‘net’ computers.

    Hi Ed,

Thanks for calling Glubble a very needed add-on for Firefox to protect children. We appreciate this.

Re: your webkinz remark. This has, sorry to say, nothing to do with Glubble. But neither with WebKinz. Glubble does not require special enhanced screen settings or resolutions, and WebKinz nicely projects its play field in a small frame.
Please send me a screen shot of your problem and we’ll try to get you and your daughter an other answer than “a resolution of 1080×600 is not standard and therefore will not display any web site correctly.”

    gr, Bartel

I just added Glubble tonight for both of my kids. I was a little hesitant about it because my son is 15 (a little old for this). But I needed some parental controls, especially with a 15 year old boy in the house. Just wanted to let you know that he and his sister (10) are loving it! I have had no complaints so far. The only thing that he has mentioned is wanting to add a different theme to his homepage. The ones available are just a little bit too “kiddy” for his taste. Is this possible?
Thanks again! This is a great idea!

Wondering if you have added the ability to chat with several family members at the same time, yet. Looking for a site with that possibility.

Re: Webkinz and the resolution problem mentioned above by Ed.

It is a webkinz issue because the Flash object used to generate their site after logging in is too large for your browser resolution. The flash object dimensions are 1000px wide by 680px high. And, I’m not entirely sure, but it does not look like it is scalable. If you are using an IE browser, then height increases to 700px to fit their Flash object. Add in Glubble’s additional browser window and there is even less space to work with.

Glubble: is there a full screen feature available that minimizes the additional browser chrome?
